Overcoming the Resistance to Legal Technology: A Student-Driven Approach

The legal industry is slow to adapt to digital tools, despite their potential benefits for case management, client communication, and efficiency. To promote change, students should advocate for integrating artificial intelligence and automation into all professional fields, including law. In the context of the EUTOPIA international research project, a legal analysis comparing different laws was conducted to resolve the problem of numerous and intertwined rules. The concept involves automating legal syllogisms to determine applicable rules by separating legal rules into individual pieces of information and attributing them "if conditions", which effectively are conditions precedents for their applicability. Ultimately, the user (researcher) inserts personal circumstances ("ifs") and in turn automatically receives personalized guidance ("thens").
